UkeHeidi,
My husband and I visited Lille in France on Thursday for a day trip. Because of rigid UK border control, I was not able to come home on that day. Mike only came home to look after our pets and to fetch my document, and he had to return to Lille next morning again! Not to miss the last train, he had to leave Lille for UK before I found a room for the night.
I didn't have a credit card, mobile telephone with me because it was meant to be a just day trip. I only had 120 euro cash. Hotels were full in the city due to a conference. But, with a kind receptionist in a hotel, I found a room at a basic roadside hotel, kilos away from the city just before 21:00.
I felt people in Lille were very friendly and kind. Everyone, bus drivers, metro staff, hotel people and someone on the streets were very helpful. I also like to point out that French people are also polite. They always greet when they enter shops. They also smile a lot. You have wonderful culture. Vive la France!
Midoriさん、借りすぎ借りすぎ。(笑)
